Beach Boys: the "A" family | Kim Lind family photographer on location in Capitola, CA

It was another amazing day at one of my very favorite beaches last Sunday.  We started out with a little fog and then it burned off at lightening speed.  I LOVE shooting families at the beach, what a great way to start a Sunday morning!  This first one is one of my favorites - a natural family portrait.

3 years old with a great big smile...

See, beach sessions are fun!
This was his first time at the beach!  8 months old, looking pretty dapper in his tie...
These next two have a little bit of post-production effects going on.  I usually take one or two photos from every session to play around with.  I love the original versions of these - the blue sky is amazing in the first one.  But I'm really liking this pastel effect too!

This one I call my "vivid" effect.  The ocean is just a little bit more turquoise, the shadows just a little darker.  A more dramatic scene than the original.
Thanks, "A" family for a great morning at the beach!  If you are interested in a beach session, September and October are PERFECT months for them!  Contact me for availability.

The "A" family | Kim Lind on location family/baby photographer, San Francisco

This little 6 month old heartbreaker is one of my newest Baby Plan clients, Danny.  (see more about my Baby Plans HERE) Isn't he the cutest?  I met him and his parents last weekend on a cold, foggy morning at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco.   Sounds a little dreary, but really it was perfect! It's San Francisco, where fog is to be expected most days and it certainly didn't put a damper on our shoot with this happy, smiling baby boy.

The Palace of Fine Arts has meaning to Danny's parents, who used to live nearby.  It makes it even more fun to photograph people on location when they choose a location they love.

Since the clothes were about to be changed, we had Danny down in the wet grass for a few shots.  I didn't think he'd like it too much, but this is one easy going baby!  He didn't seem to mind at all.  He just took it all in and enjoyed the moment...lucky parents!
Maybe my favorite from the session...a happy smooch shot.  That smile is the best!
Thanks, "A" family for a great morning in San Francisco!

The "C" family, in the Gardens | Kim Lind, family photographer, San Ramon, CA

The "C" family was a treat to spend the morning with last Saturday.  Both girls are cute as can be, and towards the end we got to play woodland fairy for a little while.

Here's the beautiful Miss "A", four and a half years old...

Moms are always the ones taking the pictures...but not when I'm in charge!  I love this mother/daughter shot.
And little Miss "L", one and a half years old...so cute!
Beautiful family in a beautiful setting...
Sweet father/daughter moment, I love this one:
Nobody has to ask me twice about wardrobe changes, especially when they involve dress up.  It's fun for the kids and for me!
Awww...sometimes the best sibling shots are the moments you catch, not the ones you plan.  Thanks "C" family for a great session!

Happy birthday AJ! | Kim Lind, event photography, Fremont, CA

I've been to my share of 1st birthday parties, even photographed a couple...but none like AJ's big shin dig!  He had a carnival party.  Literally...a carnival just for him and his 100+ closest friends at a park in Fremont.  It was complete with a petting zoo, ice cream stand, carnival games, pony ride, candy, bbq...I could go on and on.  Needless to say, it was a great day and though AJ himself may not remember it, I was there to document the big day.  Here's a little preview:

The "C" family, party of five | Kim Lind family photography in Livermore, Pleasanton CA

This session with the "C" family of Pleasanton was broken up into two locations.  Somebody just wasn't feeling too jolly at the park (we won't mention who!) but at home she really perked up.  So they get the best of both here...isn't this a gorgeous outdoor family portrait?

Twins, age 5.  I thought my 5 year old talked a lot until I met these two...they're hilarious!

And super cute...

Sweet baby in a basket, gotta love it!

This is always one of my favorite poses at this age.  Babies always love their feet!

There's a happy girl! Thanks "C" family for another great session!

Three Sweet Sisters | Kim Lind Photography, San Ramon, CA

Check out these three little cuties...it was so much fun to photograph this girly bunch.  I love this first one here of all three of them together.   There's a real sweetness captured with the 3 year old smiling and looking at her baby sister - which is even better than a big "say cheese" shot if you ask me!

Four years old and supermodel bound!
Love this big grin!
Hard not to let out a big "awwww" when you see this one, isn't it?  10 months is a great age!

Could be a tender moment...could be a big secret!  Either way it's pretty sweet.
Ok, I LOVE this shot.  The littlest sister has had enough!  And every time I look at this photo it makes me smile.  Thanks "D" family for a great session.  Believe me, it was hard to pick just a few favorites to share here on my blog!

Jessica and Steve's Engagement Session | Kim Lind, Engagement and Wedding Photographer - Livermore, CA

I've said it before...I love shooting people in love! Engagement sessions are so much fun, and the perfect way for a soon-to-be married couple and photographer to get to know each other and get comfortable in front of the camera before the big day.  By the end of this session, Steve almost got to know me a little too well...let's just say there was a really big bug and leave it at that!  These two are getting married in September, and I can't wait to shoot their wedding.  For now, here's a sneak peek at their awesome sunset e-session on location in Livermore.  Enjoy!

Little Lucas, 5.5 months | Kim Lind Baby/Family Photographer, San Ramon, CA

I first met Lucas and his family when I photographed him at just three days old.  You can see his newborn preview here.  Now look at him!  Only five and a half months old and already sitting (well, mostly sitting!) and making moves like he's about ready to crawl.  Our evening session at the Gardens in San Ramon last week was a breeze with this fun and mellow little guy.

A big gust of wind in mom's hair and a big grin on baby's face makes for a nice - and not too formal - family portrait, don't you think?

Looking dapper here in his plaid...

Oh how I love naked baby shots!  How cute it he?

Big smooch shot, cute!  Thanks "D" family for another great session!
