Through The Years: The Buttery Family | Shelter In Place Project 2020

Ahh...this family.  They're amazing.

Maureen and I were co-leaders of our daughters' girl scout troops from 1st through 5th grade.  We were a perfect match of great ideas and outstanding "winging it" skills and a decent amount of "Hakuna Matata" aka "problem free" attitude... and I'm so grateful that we shared the experience together.  Maureen is also the PTA President of Vista Grande.  That is no easy task but she's a natural.  And since Adam has nothing else to do (ha!) he's one of the Auction chairs this year.   I just love their dedication to our school.  This is spoken as someone with kids who attend Vista Grande, but also someone who teaches Art there.  Gosh, I miss it more than words can say!   Thank you, Buttery family, for being you!  I can't wait to do your next session!

Through The Years: The Peterman Family | Shelter In Place Project 2020

Where to begin with this family?  I'll just say they ARE family.  But we're not related.  They're another magic piece of my neighborhood, and those who've experienced swim team will understand when I say we share a tent.  That means our families have shared A LOT of summertime memories and I can't wait to get back to it.

Through The Years: The Karaiyan Family | Shelter In Place Project 2020

The Karaiyan family has grown a lot since I first met them!  Now a family of 5, they're always fun to photograph and also always styled so well.  The boys are bundles of energy and their little sister keeps right up with them.  Thanks for sending me your Quarantine selfie!  Can't wait to see you guys again!

Through The Years: The Norrett Family | Shelter In Place Project 2020

I've done a lot of fun sessions over the years with the Norrett Family.  This fall, we did a shoot at Baker Beach, one of my favorite spots in San Francisco.  That location always provides it's challenges. Could be windy, too sunny, too foggy, too many naked people (truth!) which always makes it an adventure.  Sure it fun to watch this family grow up!  Thanks, Norretts for sending me your Quarantine Selfie!

Through The Years: The DeMello Family | Shelter in Place Project 2020

The DeMello family would normally be at the pool or on the baseball field most days of the week.  And now, they're just at home like the rest of us.  But look at their smiles!  They were one of the two front porch photos I did before I switched to the selfies sent to me by my clients.  Erin and I are Co-Presidents of our kids' swim team together.   Many summer hours (and plenty of non-summer hours too!) have been spent together planning/volunteering/cheering on our team.  I'm missing it so much right now...and I know this crew is too.  Thank you DeMello family!  And go Stingrays :)

Through The Years: The Lee Family | Shelter in Place Project 2020

Well, this one was fun to put together!  Engagement Session, Wedding, Gender Reveal, Maternity, Newborn, Maternity, Newborn...what a great ride it's been with the Lees!  And Facebook informed me today that it's Jessica's birthday.  Jessica - I hope you had as good of a quarantine birthday as possible!  And that this brings you many reasons to smile :)

Through The Years: The Barrere Family | Shelter in Place Project 2020

I'm excited to share a new project, and love that it's starting off with the Barrere family!  They're great friends and neighbors I've known since 2011 when we moved to our amazing street.  I've had the pleasure of being the kids' art teacher at Vista Grande too.  My favorite photo of this family is the last one in the video before the selfie...I love a good laughing shot!

Through The Years - a new project starting tomorrow!

Maybe you've seen the front porch pictures that are happening all over the country during this Shelter In Place/Quarantine strange time that we're living in.  I started a front porch project...and promptly stopped once the restrictions here in Contra Costa County were extended further out.  This is not to knock any of the great photographers out there doing front porch projects, kudos to you and please stay safe!  I just decided I could put my own spin on it...thus, the Through The Years with Kim Lind Photography project!

I hope you love it as much as I do!  Look for my first post featuring the Barrere family on Monday!

xoxo,
Kim
