Beauty All Around - family photography session in San Ramon

I love love love the pictures from my session last weekend with this gorgeous family!  The morning light, the colors, the darling little girls...it was perfect.  Here's a sneak peek for mom, dad and grandma with the rest of the gallery coming in a few more days.  I think they'll have a hard time choosing favorites...which is always a good thing!

Sweet sisters....and simply beautiful.

Ok, if these were my kids this would be a gallery wrapped canvas hanging above my fireplace! Oh, if only I had a studio for displays.  The light, the colors, the reflection in the water and the interaction of the girls...love this shot.

And a few black and whites which are mom's favorites...though we'll have to see once she sees how gorgeous her family looks in color!  I just love it when someone says they don't look good in photos- a challenge I'm always willing to accept.  And believe me, it wasn't hard AT ALL to get this mom to look good!

Model Mamas

I have two friends expecting baby boys in the near future, and lucky me I got to have fun having both model for me last week.  I wanted to do two completely different styles as you can see below.  The first one was outdoors and I just loved the evening light as it was going down, highlighting this beautiful mama and her belly so perfectly.  The other one was set up at home using just soft window light.  We had some fun at this shoot creating some dramatic (va va voom!) looks as well as these soft and sweet ones below.  Maternity sessions are so much fun! Thanks to both moms for modeling for me, and to your almost-born baby boys that have made you both so picture perfect!

Monte Vista Senior Ball

I was thrilled to take part in a pre-prom party for a group of 24 high schoolers from Monte Vista High School in Danville this past weekend.  We had about an hour to shoot before their massive Hummer limo picked them up and it was a show of beautiful girls in dresses, dapper guys in tuxes, and oodles upon oodles of parents with cameras.  Just like I remember my own proms!  I also went to Monte Vista (just a few + + years ago!) and may I just say thank goodness shoulder pads and sequins are no longer in style.  These girls were stunning in their bright colored gowns, some long and flowing to the floor, some short and sassy - and all so very pretty.

Here's a sneak peek - more to come to all those who attended so check your email in the next few days for the invitation to view my online gallery.  I hope everyone had a great night in the city, and that the class of '09 Senior Ball was a night to remember!

Rain, rain, go...or stay. We'll shoot anyway!

Last Sunday morning was not your typical day for on location photography.  It was a bit like being in a greenhouse - kind of humid with a steady mist all day long.   But dreary skies did not stop this group of 10 from getting together for mom/grandma's mother's day gift of a family photograph. We moved our park location to Blackhawk Plaza which provided a good amount of shelter from the rain.  Rescheduling wasn't really an option...as the sister who coordinated this told me, trying to get a big family in the same place at the same time is like herding cats!   They were all so easy going and so fun to photograph...rain or shine I'd herd these cats any day.
